Appalam ,Vadam & Vathal series – part 2 Potato chips


Potato Chips are all time favourite of everyone be it young or old. We can make them at home quite easily and hygienically too. Once every reader of this makes it at home, Our Aunty Brand chips will give tough competition to the likes of Uncle chips, and other local brands, if not to Lays 😅😅
Take large sized potatoes, wash well and using slicer make thin slices.

Rinse the slices thoroughly in water 2-3 times until the starch gets completely washed.Immerse the rinsed slices in cold water for two minutes.

Rinse till starch is removed

In the meantime boil water in a pan add 1 tablespoon of salt.Remove the potato slices from the cold water and put them in the boiling water and cover it with a lid and let it boil for about 30-40 seconds only and then drain them out. Spread them out one by one on a cotton cloth or on a plastic sheet and let them dry preferably out in the sun.

Once completely dried your Potato chips are ready to use.

You can deep fry in oil or roast them in Microwave as per your taste. Enjoy it along with a hot cup of coffee/tea or along with your food from Rasam sadam to any of the chitrannam.
