Sushiyam (Sweet)

Ingredients: ( for the stuffing) Image 1

1 cup boiled and powdered chickpeas ( White kabuli chana), 1 cup powdered jaggery, 3/4 cup grated coconut, cardamom powder 1/2 tsp.

( for the batter)

Besan( chickpea flour)1 cup, Rice flour(1 tablespoon), Salt( a pinch), Turmeric powder( 1/2 teaspoon), Water.

Procedure:

Soak the chick peas in water overnight. Pressure cook them for 2 whistles only. Par boil them and it should not be over cooked. When it cools down grind the same without water into a coarse powder. Transfer the powder to a bowl. Add jaggery, grated coconut and cardamom powder. Mix well. Make medium sized round balls.

Stuffing

In a bowl add besan, rice flour, salt and turmeric powder to make the batter. Add water and make a thick batter without lumps.

In a pan take oil for frying. When the oil is hot, dip the round balls in the batter and deep fry in medium hot oil. When golden brown remove.

Now the delicious SUSHIYAM is ready to serve.😋

Note: Instead of besan Wheat flour can also be used for the batter.
