Red lentil and drumstick soup

Ingredients:

Red lentils ( masoor dal ) – 1 small cup soaked in 2 cups water for half hour

Drumsticks – 3-4 cut into 2 inch pieces

Onion – 1 chopped into small pieces

Garlic- 4

Ginger -1/2 inch chopped

Green chillies- 2

Turmeric powder – 1/4 Th tsp

Salt – to taste

Procedure:

Put all the above ingredients in a pressure cooker and cook for 4-6 whistles so that it is cooked soft.

Mash the ingredients manually to a fine texture.

Now add some water if needed to get soup consistency and the sieve it to remove the drumstick skin and fiber.

Serve in soup bowls with a topping of pepper powder , cumin powder , chilli flakes and lemon juice . Garnish with coriander leaves chopped.
