Ingredients :
Rice flour – 1 cup
Roasted Gram/ pottukadalai – 1/3 cup
Rava/ sooji – 1/2 cup
Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
Dry red chillies – 3
Curry leaves – few
Ghee – 2 tsps
Oil – 1 tbsp + for deep frying
Ajwain – 1/2 tsp
Roasted til – 1/2 tsp

Method :
Dry roast rice flour till it is a little warm.
Powder roasted gram & add to rice flour along with rawa . Mix them . Also add the ajwain, til & 1 tablespoon of oil. Mix the whole mixture well.
Heat the ghee till very hot & add to the above. Add 3/4 tsp of salt & mix very well.
Grind the coconut, red chillies & curry leaves to smooth paste adding as little water as possible & add to the mix.
Mix very well , add water little by little & make a smooth dough.

Pinch a small ball from the dough & roll it into rope shape on the back of a greased plate.
Repeat & make many such rings.
Ensure that edges are nicely sealed.
In a khadai heat oil in high flame. Once the oil is very hot, bring the gas to low flame.
Drop the kodubale one by one slowly.
Number depends on the amount of oil taken.

Keep turning & cook till they are golden brown & the bubbles in the oil have stopped .
As one batch is cooking you can make another batch of rings .
Don’t let the dough or rings dry.
Crisp & tasty kodubale is ready.
