Ingredients:
Besan/ gram flour. 2 glass
Rice flour. 1 glass
Red chilli powder. one and a half teaspoon or as per your taste
Unsalted butter 1 tablespoon
Heeng powder. 1/4 teaspoon
Salt 2 teaspoons or as per taste
Hot oil( any refined like sunflower or corn oil) 2 ladles
Ribbon pakoda achu/ mold/ machine
Directions:
- Before beginning the preparations, please keep oil in a kadai on stove. The oil will be hot by the time we mix the dry ingredients. Addition of hot oil makes the snack crispy.
Keep ready a plate with tissue paper on it and a container for keeping the fried ribbons. - Take a big bowl and put all the above ingredients ( except hot oil) and mix them well. Then add hot oil and carefully mix them. Now add water slowly and make a dough – neither too tight nor too sticky. It should be soft.
- Make a medium or big size ball from the dough ( depending on the size of the achu/ naazhi) and put it inside the achu.
- The oil should not be very hot. Simmer the gas stove and move the mold over the oil in a circular motion. Now keep the flame in High.
- When the bubbles stoo, flup the ribbon to the other side slowly and when it is done, remove it in the tissue covered plate.
- Crispy and tasty Ribbon pakoda is ready to enjoy with your tea.
