Karivepilai ( curry leaf) Kulambu

Ingredients to fry:-

tur dal – 1 tsp

chana dal -1tsp

Urud dal -1tsp

methi seed -1tsp

pepper -1tsp

red chilli – 5

curry leaves – 1 bowl

Method:


In a kadai add 1 spoon sesame oil and roast the dry ingredients till the dals are golden brown.Remove them.

In the same kadai add Karivepilai and fry till it shrinks and nice aroma comes

Grind everything into a nice paste by adding water. Keep ready a lemon size tamarind, soaked in water.

In the same kadai, add one spoon sesame oil and1 tsp mustard. Once it splutters, add tamarind water,1 tsp jaggary,1 tsp turmeric,1tsp salt.When it boils, add the ground paste also. Add a glass of water. After 10 minutes, it thickens and oil separates out.

Karivepilai Kulambu is ready.

Relish it with hot rice and ghee.
